Oxygen is the chemical element with the symbol O and atomic number 8. It is a member of the chalcogen group in the periodic table, a highly reactive nonmetal, and an oxidizing agent that readily forms oxides with most elements. It is the second most abundant element in the Earths atmosphere at 20.9%.

Oxygen is a colourless, odourless and tasteless gas. Oxygen is used with a fuel gas for cutting, welding, brazing and soldering. Oxygen mixes with other gases to allow a very hot flame to be produced and can be used to melt metal. It is commonly used with LGP or Acetylene.
